There is a reason that pride can really impair your decision making.
This is something that most of us know about first hand.
I have been on the receiving end of many self inflicted traumas over my life. Many of them a direct result of my pride and ego getting in the way of sound judgement. This is why I do my best to hold, relax in the HVAC and consider my option prior to making a decision close to my heart. This can be seen through how I approach project and maintenance around the house. I am far from a mechanic but, I can be surprisingly good when it comes to basic handyman stuff. There have even been instances where I actually fixed something without destroying it in the process. However, I would never bring that sort of approach or luck to something as important as the HVAC in my home. That machine is far too important to myself and my family. There have been instances where the HVAC was acting wonky. Not once did I ever think that I could jump in and do anything about it. I’ll check to be sure the HVAC is getting electricity or see if the thermostat is working. But, that is about as far as I go. After that, it’s a phone call to the HVAC shop and asking for a heating & cooling technician to come out and remedy the situation. Not only are the HVAC pros there the same day, they always figure things out and the HVAC is up and running again. That’s what you expect from professionals right?
