I have worked at the same warehouse for the past 10 years or so. My task is absolutely fantastic & I consider several of my coworkers to be family. I work the overnight shift so all of us are a pretty close group. Every one of us don’t have clients coming & going at that time so production is our main focus. I started having some respiratory complications roughly 3 weeks ago & so did some of my coworkers. Every one of us all just figured is was a cold that was going around & it would eventually run its course! When the sickness hung around all of us began to suspect that is was something in the air at the warehouse. None of our family members were sick so whatever it was had to be there… I made the decision to talk to management & see if they knew of any changes that had occurred. They said that the only thing that was unusual was the current air handler that was replaced on the Heating & Air Conditioning device. That was supposed to improve the air quality, not make it worse. They contacted the Heating & Air Conditioning device dealer that had done the replacement & upon investigation, they discovered that the updated air handler was way more powerful & it was pushing dust & debris through the ductwork that had been undisturbed by the seasoned unit. The air quality in the warehouse was worse & the filter was almost entirely clogged. Our supervisor arranged for a complete cleaning of the ductwork & after that it was so much better! Every one of us are all cheerful that it was a fixable concern because nobody wanted to have to find a different task. It is strenuous to find a group of people who work as well together as all of us do.
