My small kitchen is the part of my house I have been tending to neglect for the last few years. See, there is a small section here I need to repair that I’ve just never gotten around to, but I solemnly swear it’s not my fault at all, I just can’t find anything that really works.  I never really have much time to shop for anything either. I am a recently single mother of twins. While I enjoy them dearly, they are not always easy to wrangle at a massive furniture store, and the few times I can manage to get everyone out of the house on time and somewhat in line, the furniture stores never have what I want anyway! My kitchen doesn’t have a traditional dining set unfortunately; it’s a quirky little house that has what my kids call a breakfast nook connected to the kitchen. I figured out from online research that it’s specifically called a banquette, and ours is built into the house. I was really hoping to get it replaced with something a little less dated by chance, but nothing fits this particular space! Finally, I took the advice of one of my close friends and made an appointment at our local custom built furniture store. She was even kind enough to watch the twins while I went for free.  Not only did this store entirely recognize what I wanted, but they also were able to help me remake the banquette into a design that suited my tastes more. This current style will totally brighten up the kitchen for years to come! They will create a current custom wooden table, as well as hand crafting an entire contemporary banquette seating set. Once it’s finally done, they’re also going to take out the aged banquette and install this new one for me. They are really taking care of the whole process for me step by step, so I don’t have to do a thing. It’s definitely a single parent’s dream come true!
