Sitting in the office, 9 hours a day, barely leaving her seat with 77 other employees can raise the temperature of the room.
After all, it’s a giant room that actually can fit another 23 employees.
It’s not comfortable at all for any employee to work in, but Yazmin has to do it because her job is important. Plus, she’ll be honest, the pay is pretty nice. She just wishes they took better care of their employees. The air quality is pathetic. Yazmin finds herself covered in sweat and wanting to be in her beach house. This coworker came in this week with a small portable A/C for his desk. He is just smiling and doing his job with ease. Yazmin yelled over to him, “Did you get one for all of us?” He said, “Go to the store and get one or order it online as I did.” Yazmin believes how she said it could sound rude and a little disrespectful but now she wants one. Air conditioning is needed in this building. She knows they have it but it is not quite enough. Yazmin has complained before to management but they said that this is the temperature that they are allowed to have the temperature control set at. Fortunately, this week is Tuesday so she’ll be going to the store and trying to purchase one for Wednesday. Yazmin hopes that she can find one or she will pay for express shipping to get one of these miniature portable A/Cs. She just has to make it through the next 6 hours and hope not to melt away in her chair.
