We had a face palm moment earlier today. All because of our HEPA air filter. Let us go back a bit. So a few afternoons ago, we observed there was reduced efficiency with our A/C. It was still running, but it was taking progressively longer and longer to cool our cabin as it should be. It also started making a bizarre noise, which was concerning. We really needed our AC to function as efficiently as possible, because we are in the midst of summer, and the temperatures outside are incredibly high. We are not Heating and A/C specialists, and so we decided the smart thing to do would be to call one of the professional heating and cooling workers out here to service the problem. We called and stressed an appointment, and the cooling professional was able to come out the next day. When she did come out, she didn’t have to do any repairs at all. Why? Because the problem was our HEPA air filter. We had completely forgotten to change out the A/C filter. The filter was clogged and caused complications. We can’t believe we forgot such a vital part of taking care of the A/C equipment. We’re sure the A/C specialist was thinking we were morons. Thankfully, after a filter change, our A/C was back to running like new, and combating the warm temperatures. We will not be making that mistake again, even if we have to set reminders on our cellphones about the air filters.
