The air quality in the office is just awful

Sitting in the office, 8 hours a day, barely leaving our seat with 60 other employees can raise the temperature of the room. After all, it’s a huge room that really can fit another 20 employees. It’s not comfortable at all for any employee to work in, but we do it because our jobs are crucial. To be honest, the pay is pretty nice. We just wish they took better care of their employees. The air quality is just awful. We find ourselves perspiring and wanting to be home. Some coworkers came in today with small portable A/Cs for their desks. They were just smiling and doing their jobs with ease. We yelled over to them, “Did you get more for all of us?” They said, “Go to the store and get some or order it online as we did.” We think how we said it could sound rude and a little disrespectful but now we really want to get the units. Air conditioning is really needed in this building. We know they have it but it is not quite enough. We have complained before to management but they said that this is the temperature that they are allowed to have the temperature control set at. Thankfully, today is Monday so we will be going to the store and trying to purchase some after work. We really hope that we can find them or we will pay for express shipping to get one of these miniature portable A/Cs. We just have to make it through the next 7 hours and hope not to melt away in our chairs.
