The HVAC technician took a header into the pool.

I am forever telling my kids to clean up the pool toys when they are done in the pool.

  • That doesn’t stop me from needing to go out and pick up the noodles, or put the towels into the laundry.

I also picked up the pool net they used for skimming the leaves off the pool. I was working last week, and I told the kids it would be okay if they went swimming but they had to clean the deck when they were done. We were expecting the HVAC technician to come and assess our air conditioning unit. The AC unit wasn’t working well lately. We wanted to know if we needed a new air conditioning unit, or if repairing would do just as well. Our AC unit was almost fifteen years, and we knew it was coming to its end-of-life. My kids didn’t clean up after themselves, and I got home just in time to hear the HVAC technician floundering in the pool. He couldn’t swim and had tripped over the net and landed in the deep end of the pool. I pulled him out, and then helped him to calmed down. After giving him a glass of tea, he relaxed enough to tell me he tripped over something, and the next thing he knew, he was trying to keep his head above water. I told him he needed to take swimming lessons, but my kids needed to clean up the pool when they were done. Even though he was dripping wet, he still sat and told me we should plan for a new air conditioning unit soon. I asked if he made this decision bgecause he had almost drowned and he left. He said it was because the air conditioning unit was irreparable, and he tripped after he completed the assessment.
