When I left my home for a month long trip up north, my cooling system malfunctioned, then i did not realize it, however the cooling plan must have quit working the moment I left my home. I then spent an entire month hanging out with my parents in the north. I never had anyone check on my house. I figured what is the worst that can happen? I then came back to quite a mess, but the southern summer time had quite a heatwave and the humidity was brutal. The cooling plan is supposed to stop moisture from getting inside my house; Once it turned off, all bets were off on this. The ceilings had significant water destruction to them. My toilet, tub and flooring all had mold as well. I had to do repairs on my ceiling and I had to clean my whole home top to bottom! After all that was done, I then needed to tackle the cooling repair. The A/C repair was quite upscale and I was required to wait afternoons for the spare area to arrive, so it came out to be almost more than one weeks of expenses and no cooling. It was a horrible thing to deal with. After all that was finished, I decided to get a smart control unit for my home. This way I can at least check the temperature when I am gone. If I had a smart control unit before, I would have seen my home being in the 76s and knew something was wrong with the AC. I could have been prepared rather than just walk into a disaster zone.
