Last week, our husband saw on cable where our state is talking about raising the taxes on fuel. The two of us are already a single of the states that has the highest fuel prices in the entire US. It is estimated that our fuel taxes could go up another $ .30 to $ .50 per gallon. With fuel prices rising that much, our fuel for the oil furnace will also rise largely. Being retired, it is all the two of us can do to be able to pay for the fuel for the oil furnace, now. Our utility bills will be rising as will our food prices. It seems really silly that the price of fuel can’t be the same from state to state. The worst section of all of this is that our husband is now considering moving. He wants to transport to a state where the two of us can afford to live. He doesn’t want to continue to pay the excessive fuel cost for heating. He says if the two of us moved south after that the two of us wouldn’t need to worry about heating. The two of us could find a new lake new home in the mountains where the two of us would be able to get by with a window cooling system for the summertime as well as a couple electric area oil heating systems for the Winter. I jokingly told him that the two of us could regularly pay rent to our child who recently purchased an abandoned college. The two of us could pay him rent, he would supply all of the heating as well as A/C. He may even be wonderful enough to give us a single of the apartments that has a mini-split Heating, Ventilation as well as A/C unit. He was seriously considering the idea.
