Unless you were a furniture professional, it would be easy to mistake Traditional for Mediterranean, & vice versa.
I don’t think who I am supposed to blame for the mix-up in furniture design for our home. I had been to the furniture store, looking at Mediterranean-style family room furniture, but i loved the furniture, & the classic wood lines & color , even as a child, I had consistently dreamed of having a Mediterranean-style family room. I was sure I had told the people at the furniture store what I was looking at, & I even pointed out some furniture that I saw & said I wanted something in that order! When I finally got our family room set, I thought it was traditional & not Mediterranean. I wasn’t cheerful with the furniture store & I went back to talk to them. I showed them pictures of our family room furniture & asked why they would send me this instead of the Mediterranean I had asked for. The lady was friendly enough to show me pictures of both Mediterranean & Traditional family room sets. She said they both used natural wood & classic lines & had often been mistaken 1 for the other. Unless you were a furniture professional, it would be easy to mistake Traditional for Mediterranean, & vice versa. I wasn’t a professional, & she admitted that neither was she. She was there to guide customers to unusual things they were looking for. She asked if I didn’t like our modern wood family room furniture, which I did. I thought it was stunning, but I still thought they had switched our Mediterranean family room furniture for Traditional, but I didn’t want to take it back.
