When I get up to go to work each morning, I actually am glad to be doing it.

Now that doesn’t mean that I just love going to work everyday.

But the fact is that I really like what I do for a living. My dad told me that if I could find work that was a passion, I’d never feel like I had a job. He was right about that. But the summer is tough and without that perfect HVAC cooling when I get home at night, I might not be able to wake up so positive each morning. I work outside as I own a company that creates landscapes for planned communities, companies and retail centers. It keeps me busy but I live being outside. For 8 months of the year, there’s no place I’d rather be than outside. I’ve never been the sort that was cut out to work inside the zone controlled HVAC of some corporate office. I have mad respect for those who are able to don a suit each day and deal with being inside the quality heating and air of the office all day. Our winter is so mild that working outside is a joy. But this time of year really does drag on me. The heat and humidity sap my energy so when I come home, the smart thermostat has my back. About an hour before I get home from work, the smart thermostat starts with more HVAC cooling. It does this in order to have the perfect amount of air conditioning for when I walk through the door. It’s a feeling only people who spend their days outside during the summer can truly appreciate.
