Cat pee is already awful – for the love of god, why in the air vents?

I don’t think that anybody will argue with me when I say cat pee is one of the most disgusting smells on the face of the planet.

I have had too many run-ins with the putrid liquid, after growing up in a household where we had five indoor cats.

Our felines were territorial buttholes, and they insisted on spraying everything in the house to mark their property. As you can imagine, I don’t enjoy the smell or the anecdotes to this day. That’s why, I’m on the verge of giving away my roommate’s cat, whether they like it or not. Not only is this stupid animal peeing in the house, but he has zeroed in on our air vents. I can’t go a single day without chasing him away from the air vents near the floor and out of my room. I wish I could put something on the vents to prevent him from effectively shooting his urine directly into the air ducts, but so far nothing has curbed his hatred of the ventilation system. I’ve had the air ducts cleaned, so I know he isn’t angry about a lingering smell in the HVAC itself. The worst part is, since we have a central heating and cooling system, it doesn’t matter which air duct he pees into. Every time our indoor air temperature control system starts pumping expensive, high quality treated air through the air duct network, the pungent odor of cat pee floods every room. The only blessing has been our relatively mild outdoor air temperatures. I just hope we figure this mess out before we’re filling the air ducts with hot air every day.
