Husband left me for HVAC tech; I left him for the boss

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it is so funny how everything will just work out sometimes.

Even if the most devastating event happens to you, there is generally a bright opportunity around the corner or an important life change in the making.

I know that those aren’t comforting words in the moment, when it feels like your entire life is ending. I can absolutely empathize, because I recently went through something similar. After 15 years of marriage, my husband abruptly left me for our HVAC technician. It honestly came out of the blue and devastated me. The trouble started when we were having our central heating and cooling system replaced. We called out a new local HVAC repair shop and they promised to send out their brightest air quality control technician. Of course, this ingenious HVAC repair specialist was a young woman with just as much personality as she had heating and cooling expertise. She knew everything about air quality control, and she was really impressive with the analysis of our central HVAC system. Apparently, though, the HVAC technician was more impressive to my husband than I. He volunteered to be present for the entire HVAC upgrade, and I was grateful that I didn’t have to deal with the days of air quality control specialist traffic through the house. Several weeks later when I arrived home and found the HVAC work truck in our driveway, and my husband inspecting our HVAC technician’s equipment upstairs, I understood his enthusiasm. I was so devastated that I called the local HVAC company and filed a complaint with the boss. Wouldn’t you know, we struck up a conversation and had a lot in common. My husband left me for the young HVAC technician, but I left him for the owner of the heating and cooling business.
