Brought some HVAC truth to my neighbor

It’s so interesting to be part of a neighborhood community.

This is all new to me as I’ve never lived in a neighborhood before.

And I have to say that it’s everything I had hoped it would be. I grew up inside a big apartment building in one of the largest cities in the country. Even after four years inside a dorm room with radiant heating, I still had to go back to the city. My first job straight out of the tranquility of that college town was right back into another major city. So that meant living in an apartment building again with radiant heating and almost no air conditioning. I could deal with that sort of HVAC situation and the close quarters. But living in those big apartment buildings you tend to not get very close to your neighbors. Beyond maybe a brief wave or some eye contact, there wasn’t much rapport with my neighbors when I lived in the city. So when I took a new position that was headquartered in a rural town, I was excited to be a homeowner and a neighbor. Recently though, I had to help a neighbor with an HVAC problem. He called me one evening well after supper to see if I could come over and help him with his heat pump. Being a new homeowner, I had just had new residential HVAC installed. So I knew quite well that only HVAC technicians should be working on HVAC equipment. As much as I wanted to try to help my neighbor, I thought the real help would be giving him the HVAC truth.
