Advice for the HVAC

My brother called the other day to tell myself and others about a pretty awesome opportunity that he is thinking about doing.  He works as a general business and is consistently now working for homeowners completing odd works. Well, this certain homeowner has used his services for the past six or seven years and consistently seemed satisfied with our brother’s work and prices.  So, anyway, this guy approached our brother with a contractor and investment idea. The homeowner wanted to purchase an apartment building but needed to make sure that it is safe and sturdy and will be for years to come. This investment would help him fund his retirement so he didn’t want to be stuck with a “currency pit”.  He wanted our brother to be his maintenance go-to guy for any and all repairs both upfront and in the future. He said he would be willing to give him a regular salary, regardless if work needed to be done that week, and sign a contract with him for a two year term. This would mean guaranteed income for my brother plus pay for the required maintenance issues.  It seems like a great deal for him and with the additional income will afford my brother the opportunity to put away currency for his own place someday. I suggested to him that he have a reliable sub business for things like the Heating and Air Conditioning systems and electrical work. These are areas that require specialized repairs that our brother really doesn’t necessarily have the ability to do.  If he hires a reputable corporation and works out a reasonable contract he should still be able to keep the building’s owner all taken care of and ensure that the heat or air conditioner are safe and inspected on an annual basis.
