Advertising can be a tough sale

My husband works for a local company that builds websites.

It is great because he can work for a home office and we avoid having to pay for daycare for our two small children.

It also works because he like to be awake late at night and can work non-conventional hours. Building a site for a company takes many man hours that you may not think about. For this reason, selling his companies services can be difficult. The sales staff has to be able to explain the advantages of professional design over the trial and error of a person or company doing it themselves. Smaller companies can start out with a business page on social media, but, it they want to expand their business they need to have an actual site. My husband’s company has a flat rate fee for the design and then a monthly one for monitoring and updating. This service allows companies to always update current information on sales, services, and hours without ever having to touch the site themselves. It also includes submission to various search engines to help ensure that their ads are seen by people looking for goods and services. The hardest part of his job comes when a company is unhappy with the results from their website. This means that he needs to hone his keyword choices through trial and error to optimize the responses to the web searches. In some cases this process can take weeks but in the end, my husband is successful in altering the site to make the company happy. If not for companies like my husband’s many companies would be wasting valuable advertising dollars with little to no success.
