I am so glad that the Summer is coming to an end.
The weather was brutal this year.
I have noticed that less and less people were at the beach each time I went. I guess the temps have been too hot for them to be outside. I went to the beach a few times over the Summer, but I went early in the morning and left by 1 p.m. before the weather became unbearable. There were times that I left the beach and went to a nearby restaurant that had air conditioning. Finding a cool place with A/C is a great way to spend the rest of the afternoon. I live in the southern part of the country and having air conditioning is important to our comfort. If the temperature continues to get warmer, the beaches will be completely empty, unless they could find a way to make it cooler during the day. Last Summer, I tried using a small portable air conditioner but that was completely worthless. I had it under my beach canopy and it felt like a fan, and after a few minutes, it did nothing. I haven’t used it since, in fact, I gave it to my dad to use it in his shed. That model was on the cheaper end of portable A/C’s, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money because I wasn’t sure if it would perform well outside. And I got my confirmation that it didn’t do so well. I am really surprised that the portable A/C industry hasn’t made more progress than this.
