I could only last a week in the immense heat

When I was in school, there was a foreign language program where students could take a trip to Central America during the summer season and get the trip funded by the university. You have to be in the Spanish language course because the trip is intended to supply you with an opportunity to practice your language skills in an environment where not a single person speaks English. You stay with another family and write about your experiences while honing the language. It’s a lot harder than people think, and I was sweating the whole trip. I ended up only lasting a week because of the ridiculous weather. Even though I have lived in regions with 110 degree summer seasons, I was thousands of miles north from here. That area is far away from the equator, however Central America is not. That’s what was the hardest area for me over anything else. It was ridiculously sizzling on a level that I had never experienced before in our life, and there was no indoor cooling of any kind. I was thankful that the family welcomed me into their home. I was dying everyday while I was dripping in sweat from head to toe. After they laughed at me daily for a week, I caved and made arrangements to go home. I think I’m a wimp for not being able to handle drastic tropical heat for longer than more than seven days, however I’m just not used to that kind of temperature. When you live so far away from the equator, it’s actually hard to imagine what the heat and sun intensity is like when you’re that close to it.
