Whatever happened to taking pride in your work?

It amazes me how poorly some people do their jobs these days.

I remember a time when most everyone took pride in what they did.

It seems like every place you go, there is some kind of shop that is selling factory seconds to the customers. Factory seconds go from clothing to HVAC systems. I could not believe when I went into the HVAC show room, to look for a new HVAC system. The first thing I saw was an air conditioning unit that was priced at 25% off. The air-conditioning unit came into the showroom with damage. It appeared to have been damaged while in transit, but it also looked like the parts just didn’t fit together properly. When I decided to purchase a new air conditioning unit, I wanted a new air conditioning unit. I didn’t want anything that was damaged, gently used, or refurbished. I talked to the technician who was in the showroom, and asked him about the air conditioning unit. He told me that other than the few external dents, the inside of the air conditioning unit was in perfect condition. He said the dents would not affect the way the air conditioning unit worked, or its energy efficiency. Although he seemed quite positive about the statement, I was still unsure. I left the HVAC technician speechless when I said to him about the quality of work that was being done anymore. I was hoping that with the ethics this HVAC company had, that the HVAC equipment they sold, would have the same quality as their company.
