I am a Realtor who has been selling homes in one are for 30 years. My passion is finding the right buyer for the right property. I want to provide the seller with their best chance to obtain a good price for their home. However, there are certain homeowners who make this process far more difficult than would ever be necessary. There is one guy right now who is fighting me tooth and nail over his HVAC unit. This man has been nothing but difficult from the very beginning. He has these weird ideas that have mutated from watching to mean house flipping shows on TV. The guy nearly lost his mind when I told him his HVAC unit was outdated and must be replaced. He was so upset that I simply walked off the property. I wished him good luck and left. His wife called my office the next morning begging me to come back. When I went back, I explained to this man that I understood his apprehension about spending money upfront like this. However, I showed him the figures to prove that an HVAC upgrade would not only get the house sold but at a much higher price. He calmed down a bit. But as I was leaving he stated that if he was replacing something as expensive as the HVAC system, he should just stay put. I shook his hand and again wished him the best of luck.
