Maximize Efficiency and Life of HVAC Heating Through Maintenance

If you live up here in the further reaches of the northern United States, you always have winter on your mind.

And if you don’t, you should.

Being prepared for the coming winter is really the most fundamental way of getting through the winter. Personally, I am a huge fan of the snow, ice and cold. I live where I do for just about every other reason. There may be a day when the effort it takes to thrive during the months and months of winter is just too much. But until then, I will be doing what I know works to live a winter up here. Of course, one of the most fundamental issues we face is HVAC heating. There are plenty of different methods but, they all require attention and diligence. My home is heated by a furnace. Our furnace is now just over a decade old. I expect to get at least another full decade before I begin to consider replacement. We spent a lot of money on this last furnace. Getting a furnace which had the most efficiency and longevity were our two leading factors. Spending a bit more to get a lot more seemed like a fairly good trade off to me and my wife. So, we plopped down that extra bit and were thrilled with the results. The furnace has been nothing but as advertised. The efficiency is better that we had imagined. However, the furnace was only part of the commitment. We also firmly committed to doing all we could to maximize the efficiency of our new furnace. We have the furnace professionally maintained both before the winter and then after.
