Trying to get the dust out of my house

I have been updating my bathroom and it is a slow process. I am constantly waiting for new fixtures and parts to ship. My local hardware store runs out of a lot of the materials I need. I also don’t like working in the bathroom everyday. The gutting portion was just horrible. Taking down drywall, tile and plumbing fixtures was messy. The amount of dust was disgusting. I tried to shelter my bedroom from the dust cloud but didn’t have any success. I had to rush through the gutting portion since I didn’t want to clean and then have my room get dusty again. Once everything was all out and new things were just being put in, I allowed myself to clean. I had to wash my rugs, sheets, curtains and all my clothing. I also needed to scrub the walls, ceiling fan and HVAC vents. Thank goodness I went up high and noticed how gross it was inside my ductwork. It occurred to me that my HVAC unit had been running the whole time during the gutting process. I quickly turned off my heater and AC so that the dust in the ductwork would not be spread from room to room. I immediately got ductwork cleaning scheduled and completed so that I knew my home would stay fresh. This probably was a bit premature now that I think about it. I will need to put up new drywall and mud the seams. There will be some sanding dust. I am hopeful I can keep it out of my HVAC and if I put towels under the door, out of my room.
