I’ve never been that impressed by advanced technology or up-to-date inventions.
I was raised by a family of seasoned school people who lived in the rural countryside, plus tested farms for generations.
The rule was if something wasn’t broken, you do not replace it. Instead, you find a way to repair it, plus if you can’t, only then do you buy something up-to-date to replace something old. This was their mindset especially with tractors. Nowadays tractors are built with PCs inside of them much like automobiles plus the companies that manufacture them want all of the maintenance labor to be done by their own supplier’s techs. They do not want you laboring on your own device or modifying it. This further removes the freedom that you would normally have being a farmer in this country, and you’re completely tied to whatever supplier that you use for your heavy equipment. However, I will make an exception about technology when it comes to things like space heaters for instance. Recently, I discovered that there are these infrared genre space heaters that are made to look like actual fireplaces. They have the visual effect down plus everything plus they supply nice amazing heat in a circular pattern all the way around the base of the machine. These space heaters are sporadically $100 or even $200, however they are severely effective for giant areas. And people suppose it’s a real fireplace. They actually asked me if I have a gas fireplace or if it’s a wood fireplace. That’s when I have to tell them that it’s just a extravagant space heater.
