I had been feeling the urge to visit my mother in the next town.
One winter morning, the desire was so much that I could not resist it.
I called off work for the day and prepared for a road trip to mum. My mother lives alone in a farmhouse. We spoke on the phone at least twice a week. I called, and she sounded fine. I, however, did not tell her I would visit her. As I would be away for a few days, I made sure to turn off my whole home heating system so that I could save on energy. The tech from the heating business arrived early the next morning and went to work examining the heat pump installation. The heat pump looked fine and intact. Upon further examination, they found undone ductwork making a weird noise. They had to remove the entire vent system as it was pretty damaged. The heating dealer provided the new materials so the professionals could proceed with the duct sealing. The heating technician repaired it all through the morning. It was not until almost afternoon that the experts from the heating company wrapped up the job. The help with indoor comfort improved, and my mum learned more about heating since the servicemen explained some things. The heating industry has grown not only in technology and new heating equipment but also in service delivery.
