Shouldn’t have bet on a 26 year aged heat pump

There are a million reasons that I could come up with for why I didn’t start saving for the HVAC unit earlier.

But all those reasons are as much reasons as they are excuses. When both of us first moved into this house, both of us had to upgrade the HVAC equipment. Since then, our house has been a beautiful locale to raise a family as both of us are now empty nesters. Once the HVAC unit turned twenty, that is when I should have started saving for an HVAC upgrade. Yet there were so many other crucial things I just didn’t do it. I am not sure it was even on our radar how aged the HVAC unit was getting. For years, both of us have belonged to an HVAC repair plan so the HVAC unit constantly got the HVAC repair it needed without me having to suppose about it. I suppose this resulted in me having a bit of a inaccurate sense of security when it came to the HVAC unit. With all that HVAC repair, both of us never experienced a moment’s down time when it came to heating plus cooling. But last Spring, as the HVAC professional was doing the air conditioning tune up, I got caught off guard. She told me that it was unlikely the heat pump would make it through another blast gas furnace of a summer. Of course I had not saved for the current HVAC unit plus I needed more time. That led to our wifey plus I hoping both of us could get the heat pump through a single more summer. It didn’t work out that way, as the heat pump finally died in June.
