I’ve always wondered why I can search for some things online, and then I instantly start to see pop-up ads on my computer for the same exact things. The people I was with an addition to my software searching for a new used vehicle for our son. We had been performing some research for a couple of days, when the people I was with in addition to myself logged on to our Facebook account. Down the side of our page, the people I was with an addition to myself saw at least four or five ads from car dealerships. A few were substantial dealerships that are in our town, and a few of the other ads were simply for used car dealerships like CarGurus. Since the people I was with an addition to myself had not asked Facebook to show us ads, we started to do some research on the process. The people I was with an addition to myself found out that SEO targets identifiable demographics for goods in addition to Services. Large companies pay an additional fees to these types of SEO companies, in order to Target subsets of people for advertising. The information gets submitted over and over again to multiple different search engines. The more information on a website that pertains to the search term, the more easily it will be found online. The people I was with an addition to myself still don’t understand how we’re getting car ads, but maybe part of it is the computer listening and watching everything that we do, just like the government conspiracy spying on us.
