Our heating system broke down at the end of the winter and so now we are going to have to get a new one this year. This wasn’t really something that we had planned on doing and so we don’t exactly have enough money saved up for it at the moment. I know that there are a lot of people out there who save up emergency funds for situations like this, but unfortunately for us, we are not those kinds of people. I know that it would be good to have money put away for a rainy day or for emergencies just like this, but we basically have to live paycheck to paycheck most of the time. It’s unfortunate, that’s for sure. I hate the way that it makes me feel very paranoid most of the time because there is just no reason that I shouldn’t be able to save up several hundred dollars to give myself a cushion of some sort whenever we have an emergency. When the heating system broke down at the end of the winter last year, we knew that we were going to have to pay to get a new one. At that point, we didn’t really worry about it all that much because we knew that we had months and months to save up to get a new heating system. Now, time is passing by really quickly and it’s going to be the end of summer again before we know it. I think that we are going to get a heat pump when we finally do get a replacement.
