Some friends that we go to church with had a furnace in their house that was well over 50 years old.
This furnace was so old that nobody remembered where it had come from and it looked like something from a horror movie.
It looked like it might come to life in the middle of the night and try to eat you or something like that. I remember looking at it when we went over there for dinner one night, because the furnace was giving them some trouble and I told them that I would go and check it out for them so they wouldn’t have to go down the stairs. They were older, and I really did not like the idea of them going up and down their creaky basement steps if they didn’t absolutely have to. Anyway, when I got down the stairs to the furnace room, I was shocked at how creepy and scary their furnace looked! They told me that this old furnace was over 50 years old and they had no idea where he had originally come from. They said that after the furnace had been in the house and they actually built the house around it. That was one of the creepiest things that I had never heard of. I mean, I guess at least the old furnace had kept them warm for half a century, but it sure did not look very friendly. I was surprised when they told me it was that old, but when I saw it in person, it looked like it had come across the ocean with the pilgrims.
