If your electricity goes out, you better double check your thermostat

If you have a storm or a power surge or something like that where your electricity ends up going out, then make sure that you double check your thermostat unit once the power is up and running again.

Sometimes power surges and electrical problems can cause your thermostat to stop working correctly. Other times, it can mess up the pre programmed sorry close that you have your heating and cooling system seven. This can end up being a big problem for people who just expect their thermostat to go on running the way that it did previously. I remember waking up in the middle of the night one night freezing cold and wondering what was going on with my furnace. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with my furnace at all, but my thermostat had not told the furnace to turn on. That’s because the thermostat was not set correctly because of the power surge they had knocked it offline. At that point, I didn’t really even know that this was something that would ever be an issue. It wasn’t something that had ever happened to us before and so I didn’t realize that having the power go out would mess up the thermostat settings in the house. I’m glad that I figured it out, though! Now, any time that we have a storm or a power surge, I know that I need to go and make sure that the thermostat is working correctly. Without a properly working thermostat, your HVAC system is not going to work the right way.
