My septic system was leaking

My house basically just sits on sand.

I have tons of trees that shed leaves and that is what I get to walk on.

I frequently leaf blow and water the sand hoping for grass. I get nothing unfortunately. I did have one spot in the lawn that was a lush green grass. It started out as a small patch that quickly began to grow. At first I liked that I had a cute little patch of grass. Then I started wondering why just in that specific area. The leaves still feel off the trees. It still didn’t get any rain. Why was there grass there? I finally started noticing something was wrong when the backyard began to smell horrific. It smelled just like an old porta potty. I did some research online and realized my septic tank had been leaking for years. It started as a small leak that was watering one patch in my lawn. Then it grew into a big problem and that is how the smell started. I wasn’t pleased at all to be dealing with a major septic issue. Thankfully there is a plumbing business right in town that was able to come over immediately. I left the house to go shopping for the day so I didn’t have to see them dig up my lawn and unearth gross things in my yard. It was a hefty bill, septic tank issues always are, but I was grateful it was fixed. I feel plumbers should make more than doctors. I would rather cut someone open then mess around with their poop anyday.
