A cracked pipe when I home alone

My husband works a ton and I am a stay at home mom.

This is a recent change for us.

I used to work a normal 9-5 and was always out of the house. Now I am at home with new duties on my plate. Stay at home mom life isn’t easy. Not only is caring for my daughter tough, but I have to keep up with the house. I don’t hire out services anymore, I handle them myself. I cook, clean, wash clothes and handle any small repairs around the house. I have gotten pretty handy in my time at home. Recently I came across a repair that was too large for me. I went to take a shower and noticed that something was wrong. The sounds coming from my shower were just weird. I should have inspected right then but I didn’t. Later on I noticed that I had standing water in the bathroom. I had a pretty major leak in one of my pipes. I am not a licensed plumber and I don’t have any tools to fix a broken pipe. I had to call my first ever plumber while trying not to panic at the water gushing in my home. The plumber was excellent. He immediately told me to turn off the water and control the flow of water to one room in the house. He then arrived at my house 30 minutes later and made the repair. It was quick, cheap and relatively painless. I am proud of myself that I didn’t call my busy husband in a panic over the plumbing.
