Last week, our boyfriend called and asked me to go fishing with him… And I hadn’t yet been outside and really loved fishing, so I agreed to go; then when he showed up, he left the automobile running, which should have been a clue to how hot it was outside.
I was going to turn the temperature up on the thermostat so I could save some money on the air conditioner, but something told me not to. When I stepped outside, I almost walked back inside. It was already ninety-5 degrees and I didn’t want to be out in a metal boat with the sunshine shining off the water. I was sure I was going to have a good time, although I was also sure I was going to end up with a horrible sunburn. I finally went back inside to get our sunscreen, and almost didn’t go back out. I looked at our boyfriend and asked if he was sure about going fishing when it was so hot outside, then he grimaced and fished his keys out of his pocket. He shut the automobile off and asked what else I had in mind. I had a built-in pool in the beach house building, and all of us would not need to go outside if all of us wanted to use the inside pool… Every one of us packed a picnic supper and headed to the inside pool, then the water was warm, but the air conditioner felt so good that I was blissful that all of us didn’t go fishing. I much prefer air conditioning to being out in the heat. My boyfriend agreed with me, although he still wanted to spend the day with me.
