If you want something done right, hire a professional.

Ever since buying my own home, I have lived under the motto that if you want something done right, hire a professional.

I had been talking to her one afternoonmy neighbor and telling her that I was having a problem with my air conditioning unit.

She told me her grandson was excellent at making home repairs, and she gave me his phone number. I thought that maybe he was a professional HVAC technician, so I accepted the number and decided to give him a call that evening. When the young man showed up in my house the following day, I was surprised. I had to submit he was quite adorable, but I wanted a professional HVAC technician and not someone who knew a little bit about HVAC. Although he had tools for the AC unit, I still didn’t trust his ability. I asked him if he wanted a glass of tea before going to work, hoping to be able to talk to him and tell him I really didn’t need his help. As we talked I found out that he had been an HVAC technician for the last five years. He said his grandmother was always trying to set them up with young ladies, but I was the first one that he actually decided to help. I got flustered and told him that I called because I thought he was an HVAC technician and not because she was trying to hook us up. He looked relieved, went out to fix my AC unit, then came back in. He said all he had to do was change the air filter, and then he wanted to ask me out.
