I usually get my way

Last week, our hubby saw on TV where our state is talking about raising the taxes on fuel.  The people I was with and I are already one of the states that has the highest fuel prices in the entire US.  It is estimated that our fuel taxes could go up another $ .30 to $ .50 per gallon. With fuel prices rising that much, our fuel for the heating system will also rise sizably.  Being retired, it is all the people I was with and I can do to be able to pay for the fuel for the heating system, now. Our energy bills will be rising as will our food prices. It seems truly deranged that the price of fuel can’t be the same from state to state.  The worst section of all of this is that our hubby is now considering moving. He wants to trans athletic activity to a state where the people I was with and I can afford to live. He doesn’t want to continue to pay the excessive fuel cost for heating. He says if the people I was with and I moved south then I wouldn’t need to worry about heating.  The people I was with and I could find a new home in the mountains where the people I was with and I would be able to get by with a window cooling system for the Summer plus a couple electric area furnaces for the winter. I jokingly told him that the people I was with and I could regularly pay rent to our child who recently bought an abandoned college.  The people I was with and I could pay him rent, he would supply all of the heating plus cooling system. He may even be good enough to give us one of the apartments that has a mini-split Heating plus Air Conditioning unit. He was seriously considering the idea.
