I have been working in the HVAC industry most of my life.
I started working for an oil company and I learned everything I could about furnaces and heaters.
Eventually, I became certified to work on all heating and air conditioning equipment. I worked for a commercial service provider for 15 years and then I got hurt on the job. I could no longer work a 40 hour week in a physically demanding job. I decided to stop working as a repair technician and I started my own consulting company. I have been an HVAC contractor for several years. Most of my clients are residential, but I have a couple of commercial clients as well. As a contractor, it’s my job to give customers the best scenario for their heating and cooling equipment. Sometimes it’s good news and sometimes it can be bad nes. A couple of weeks ago, I went to a machine shop to talk with the owner about the air filtration system and the HVAC unit. When I saw the condition of the furnace, I immediately recommended replacing the heating equipment as soon as possible. The furnace was a health hazard and I could tell that a small amount of fumes were leaking from the machine. The owner didn’t realize the furnace was a huge problem and he agreed to completely renovate the furnace and wall of the ductwork in the building. That job is going to take about five days to complete, but we are waiting until the spring to begin the work. It will be easier to complete the renovations when the weather isn’t freezing.
