I thought my cat got stuck in the air ducts

My cat Mittens is an odd little creature. I guess that is why I prefer cats over dogs, though, because cats all seem to be such weird little creatures. I am not a weird cat lady, at least not yet, I just have this one cat. Mittens doesn’t seem to like other animals very much, so I think we are both content with each other’s company most of the time. Even if I did want more cats, she wouldn’t abide it for long. The latest thing she has started doing is getting into the crawlspace behind the walls, and somehow crawling into the ductwork of the ventilation system. The first time she did it I freaked out and did everything I could to try and lure her out of an open air vent, but she didn’t come. I came to find out, by opening a can of tuna fish, that she could come and go from the air ducts as she pleased, she just liked being in there. From that point on she gets into those air ducts fairly often, and I will even leave one of the air vents opened up to make it easier for her. Of course, I still get afraid that she will get stuck in one of the air ducts one day, and if that happens I have no way of getting her out! That’s just a risk I will have to take, because Mittens loves the ductwork, and if a cat wants to do something it is hard to stop them from doing it.
