I needed to learn about different energy saving tips to lower my energy bills

After buying a new home, I felt like the happiest person alive.

Well, that was until I saw my electric bill for the first time! I was using the cooling system like there was no tomorrow, and I learned that I had to pay the price for that.

I thought there had to be a way to lower my energy bills without sacrificing my A/C. I love having the A/C cranked to a comfortable level, I just don’t enjoy being overheated at all. When I feel overheated, I feel terribly sluggish and genuinely have no motivation to do anything. I ended up talking to a friend of mine about my issue and surprisingly he said he knew somebody who could help me with some energy saving tips. He said his friend was an HVAC professional and he knew he would help me out. When his friend came over, I offered him and my friend some drinks first thing. The guy was really cool and said to just keep them coming while he looked over my HVAC system and house. He was able to find different places around the house where A/C was leaking and he said I should consider plastic for the windows or blockout curtains. The blockout curtains he explained would keep the sunshine from warming up my house and making my A/C system work harder. He also said I needed to upgrade the insulation in the house and if possible, go for more energy efficient windows that don’t let the A/C out. He also said a smart thermostat would save me good money. I followed all these tips, and I honestly can’t believe how low my energy bills are now. I’m also trying to save up some money to afford a more energy efficient HVAC system.
