I guess I was pretty foolish when I became a homeowner for the first time. I really didn’t know what I was doing, I was just happy that I was able to buy a place of my own. I felt like I was making the right move and I wouldn’t have to be throwing away my money on rent anymore. Well, I learned there are numerous things to worry about that I didn’t have to worry so much about in the past. Of course I would always change my air filters for the HVAC system, but I never had to take care of official repairs. So I was just an idiot and didn’t bother to get repairs done on my HVAC or regular maintenance. The only thing I did was change the air filters. Now given, the air filters I was using weren’t bad, but the fact that I wasn’t getting tune-ups done on the HVAC system was a big problem. The HVAC system was a little bit aged as well. I thought it worked great for the first few years until it totally died on me. I freaked out and called my parents about the problem I was having. They asked if I was getting regular maintenance from the HVAC company and I said I wasn’t. My father couldn’t believe how stupid I was for not doing that, but I genuinely didn’t know. The HVAC was in such a state of disrepair that I had to buy a new HVAC system altogether. At least I was able to learn a valuable lesson as a homeowner, to take good care of the HVAC system through the HVAC professionals.
