I have to hand it to the realtor on the HVAC upgrade strategy

But I still have qualms about replacing something that’s still working.

There are moments when I’m still very hesitant to be selling our home. I understand the logic for selling the house. But I swear I could be just fine living right here forever. However, that’s not the case as I’m upgrading the HVAC equipment in order to add value to our home. I really didn’t see the need for replacing a perfectly good HVAC unit if I have to be honest. That piece of HVAC technology is only 15 years old and still runs like the day it was was installed. A big reason for such great performance is the fact that we started with the HVAC service plan right away. The HVAC service plan consists of heating maintenance in the fall that’s then followed up with an air conditioning tune up in the spring. And that happened every year without fail. But when it comes to selling our home, we just didn’t have the HVAC technology most buyers wanted. That was the message I was getting from the realtor when she suggested we replace the HVAC equipment. But I still have qualms about replacing something that’s still working. Yet, if we’re selling this house I want to be sure that we get top dollar. So I talked to one of the HVAC contractors at the HVAC company about repurposing are old HVAC equipment. He was all over that as they have a program to give those in need heating and cooling equipment that it’s still in great shape. At least that makes me feel a little bit better about selling our home.
