Choosing the geo heat pump was spot on

We are on the very cusp of winter at this point of the year.

  • And believe it or not, I’m kind of excited to see the temperatures drop.

I’m not exactly the sort of person that gets into a lot of outdoor activities no matter the season. But in the winter I tend to stay inside the HVAC heating almost all the time. There are things I like about winter but cold isn’t one of them. The house we’ve lived in for almost 25 years uses a gas furnace for HVAC heating. That gas furnace was fine, it just was never really cozy in our house. I always had to wear a sweater or cover up with a blanket when I was sitting in my recliner. This will be the first winter I don’t have to do that. We upgraded the HVAC equipment on our house to sell it and we made a bundle. My wife and I chose to build a much smaller house that’s sustainable for just the two of us. We also ended up choosing a geothermal heat pump for heating and cooling. Initially, the biggest reason we chose the go with the geo heat pump was for sustainability and efficiency. That’s because geothermal heat pumps use the earth’s almost constant temperature for energy when it comes to heating and cooling. For sure it’s more expensive up front than a traditional central air conditioning system. But man is it going to save us money over the long run as it’s about the most efficient you can buy. But the best thing is I’m going to have radiant floor heating this winter and it is the coziest, warmest HVAC heating I’ve ever experienced.
