Back in high school, our woodshop teacher was particularly impressed with the makeshift cooling proposal I made with wood work in addition to several components. She said she knew a good trade school where I could make our way to get our Heating, Ventilation and A/C certification in addition to after that I could carry on to become an engineer. I thought it sounded interesting, so I went for it. She gave myself and others a letter of recommendation in addition to everything.
