HVAC maintenance helps the unit last longer

Most of the home appliances can draw a lot of electricity.

Machines like the television, washer, dryer, and oven are some of the biggest energy consumers, but the HVAC unit is by far the biggest.

The average homeowner spends 61% of their monthly utility expenditures on the heating and air conditioning bills. If your home HVAC unit doesn’t run efficiently, those bills can add up over time. If the HVAC unit is inefficient, it probably won’t last much longer than the factory warranty. Proper maintenance can be an easy way to help the system run better and last longer. During the summer, there are a few important steps that can help the AC unit work more efficiently. Changing the air filter frequently is something that will help during the winter and summer months. When the air filter is clean, the air flow is not interrupted. Poor airflow can cause the machine to work harder, and that costs money. During the summer, I use a Shop-Vac to clean all of the leaf and dark particles from the outdoor unit. I also flush the condenser drain tube. A little warm salt water does the trick for me. During the winter season, I also perform some routine maintenance on my furnace. I inspect the burner flames and also vacuum the system of any dust or debris. I also inspect the blower parts. During the winter season, I also clean all of the air vents throughout my house. These few simple steps can go a long way in making sure that your home HVAC components last for years and years.
