I was kind of alarmed when I saw that the gas furnace was struggling immensely.
- I hadn’t had HVAC service done in a while and I decided to call up the HVAC company.
Fortunately, they were not very busy. This was the beginning of the winter and I called them as soon as I noticed there was an issue with the gas furnace. It kept struggling to turn on. It would light up and then it would turn off and light up again. When I had the HVAC professional come out, he said that the HVAC system needed a good cleaning and a tune-up. He was telling me that it’s never a good idea to pass on a tune-up especially before the heating season. He said with a clogged up system, it can experience all sorts of troubles. He also checked out my ductwork system and said that it could use a good duct cleaning. I decided to go for that and went for the tune-up and he cleaned out the system very well. Fortunately, there were no expensive parts that had to be replaced and he said I should be good to go for the remainder of the winter. He just reminded me to keep changing the furnace filter regularly and I shouldn’t have any issues. I was happy that my furnace was no longer experiencing troubles after that. The HVAC professional said I was lucky because if I would have let the issue go on any further, it could have developed into a costly repair. I guess I am lucky.
