Good ventilation for dinner

My husband tells everyone that I have given him god-like status. I am always giving him burnt offerings. I don’t burn his dinner on purpose, and I am actually a very good cook. I even did some catering when I was younger. He reminds me that my last job was when I put the Pasta Alfredo in the oven to warm up and I hit the broil instead of the warming. I was busy with the hors d’oeuvres and forgot about the pasta until the smoke came rolling out of the oven. When I got my new oven, he made sure to have a good ventilation hood to go with the oven. He wanted to make sure that next time I upheld his status, the smoke went outside and not inside. My worry with this is that we may end up with the firetruck coming up the lane. If someone reports all of the smoke coming from our home, they may think our home is on fire. The ventilation system will assure that none of that smoke is coming back into the house, so I guess that is a good thing. I tried to tell him that with the ventilation system running all of the time, as he suggests, it could be pulling the air conditioning out of the house. I know that he wasn’t having any of it. He told me that the heating and air conditioning would be staying in the house, and the ventilation system was not strong enough to pull all of it out. I haven’t burned anything in over six months.
