Getting in shape before starting a new job

About two years ago, I was offered a job promotion that meant a better title, more money and a move down south. I was excited to leave behind the snow and cold, settle into a community right nearby the ocean and get a fresh start. I saw it as an opportunity to become a new and improved me. The idea of meeting new people, beginning a brand new job and moving into a new area got me interested in making some changed. I wanted to make a great impression and feel confident. I decided that I needed to get in better physical shape. I was determined to lose some weight, tone my muscles and improve my overall health and fitness. I realized that I’d need some professional help to achieve my goals in a short amount of time. I had approximately eight months before I was expected to pack up, switch locations and step into my job requirements. I signed up with a personal trainer, who recommended that I also work with a nutritionist. He said that the combination of better fitness practices with more nutritious eating habits would deliver the quickest results. The nutritionist helped me to make some easy substitutions in my diet to significantly trim my calorie intake while increasing my consumption of necessary vitamins and minerals. The personal trainer developed a customized exercise program that was extremely demanding. At first, I was super sore, fatigued and miserable after each session. As I gradually built up stamina and strength, I felt much better and became more motivated. Seeing a difference on the scale, as well as in the mirror, encouraged me to work even harder. I also found that I had more energy during the day, was way more productive and slept deeper at night. By the time I moved to my new location and started at work, I felt really good about myself.
