Getting after Winter prep to bring HVAC heating cost down

It’s the end of September plus I’m really almost through with the Winter prep on the house.

Unlike every preceding year, I’m not saying that I’ll for sure get to saving on HVAC heating next year.

Last Winter sort of did for myself and others when it came to high HVAC heating costs. In our region, there was a big heating cost hike last year. And I tried to mitigate those costs by pushing the thermostat setting even further down. So not only did I pay more than I wanted to for HVAC heating, I was not sizzling while doing it. That was sort of it for me. The fact that I had done nothing toward saving money on HVAC heating since both of us obtained this home was on myself and others plus enough was enough. Our home is older plus so was in desperate need of getting sealed up tight. So I started the weekend before the kids went back to school. I used a step by step guide I downloaded from the HVAC website to particularly seal the home up. I started with replacing the weather stripping plus the storm doors. Then, I scoured the entire exterior of the home to find any gap or crack to seal them up. I added more insulation to the attic plus even re-insulated a pair of windows that were known to be drafty. And it’s not even November. I knew that if I waited, I’d be in the same boat I was last Winter plus I wasn’t going to let that happen. Now, all I have to do is to call the HVAC corporation to come out to do the HVAC heating maintenance so the gas gas furnace is working at its most efficient.
