Building our first custom home was something that was on our bucket list. That house is now complete and I’m just so thankful that we paid attention to all the details. Being retired made a home build a lot more hands on for my wife and I. We were able to be onsite almost every day. We also spent nearly two months just finding the HVAC contractor. Our home is full of special, custom items that we have always wanted in a home. The house itself isn’t all that big but it’s got a lot of special components. One of those special components was the reason we had to find just the right HVAC professional to install the HVAC equipment. We chose to go with a geothermal heat pump for our heating and cooling in this house. We love the idea that the geo heat pump is just so efficient and lasts more than 30 years. Actually, that HVAC unit might outlast us. But the installation of a geo heat pump is intricate. You have to have the sort of HVAC contractor who has experience with the geothermal heat pump. Initially, we found plenty of HVAC folks who said that were familiar with the geo heat pump but hadn’t actually installed one. So we had to look regionally just to find the sort of HVAC professional that we could count on to do the job right. But our search paid off and we now have the best quality heating and air we’ve ever experienced. I can’t tell you how pleased we are with this sort of HVAC unit. And that’s a good thing since it will be our last HVAC unit!
