Are you ready for the upcoming season?

Are you ready for the season of storms to begin? I know it can be rough during the summer, especially if you live in the south, like Ido.

  • I have a list of things that I need to do and things that I need to have ready, in case of storms rolling through.

The first thing I do is to get my list and a box big enough to put all of my things inside. I like to have plenty of non perishable food items that will get me through several days without power. I keep canned tuna, and other foods that can be eaten cold and right out of the can. I add a couple flashlights and several packs of batteries. Since I have kids, I also make sure I have these little stick up lights so they have light at night. We only worry about air conditioning in the summer. Once the air conditioning goes out, we end up with it being not just hot, but humid, and this can be really harsh to deal with. If you have a generator, you may be able to run the air conditioner, if it is big enough. Some people have generators that will turn their lighting on immediately. It may even be heavy enough to run the air conditioner, but at the very least, you can run fans for some relief. It is important to be ready for the storms of summer, and if you need any tips on what to do, I would suggest going online and looking for ideas for your area.
