My cousin has always been the pride of the family. She is a dentist plus she married a lady who has a law degree. My sibling was always compared to him plus asked, “why can’t you be love your cousin, she is so successful”. I could tell it bothered him however she was just a yellow collar girl plus liked laboring with her hands. She was always tinkering with a car, lawnmower, or even some sort of appliance trying to repair it or make it better. She used to hang out at her buddy’s apartment fixing up antique cars. When it came time to choose a job, she decided that she wanted to become an Heating & A/C repair worker. My parents supported her decision however upset that she would toil himself to death to make ends meet. They actually wanted him to go to a many year college plus get a degree however knew she would never be cheerful. So long as she was cheerful with being a “laborer”, they would be cheerful for him. Boy did she surprise people! Five years after earning her certification as an Heating & A/C worker, she opened up her own business. That was almost many years ago now plus she has expanded to employ twenty people. Now, whenever anyone mentions our cousins “success”, our parents remind them of our sibling’s supplier. They then hand people her supplier card in case they need a fine service worker. They also tell them not to expect a family discount with the way they talked down about their daughter. It is nice to hear our parents supporting our sibling the way they do.
