Air conditioner takes forever to cool my home

As much as I enjoy my air conditioning system, I truly don’t think it works well enough. I don’t know that much about cooling systems, but I do know that they are not supposed to take an extended period of time to cool your home. Maybe 30 minutes at the most. Yet my air conditioning device probably takes at least 2 hours at a minimum on hot days. If it is blazing hot outside, then at the most I can get my home to feel warm, rather than overheated. I have been meaning to call a local HVAC place and ask for their advice, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I had mainly been looking online for solutions to the problem, hoping to avoid a potential A/C repair bill. However, there wasn’t a ton of information online, and the information that I did find didn’t seem like it would work. So I had to accept the fact that calling a heating and cooling business was probably my best option. On a Friday afternoon on my break, I called the HVAC company close to me and explained my situation. They explained that the A/C taking forever to cool could be for various reasons, for example, the A/C unit could be not efficient enough for my home. The best way to determine the issue was to send out a professional A/C technician to look at the problem and figure out the best solution. So a HVAC appointment was scheduled for Monday, and hopefully then the problem can be taken care of.
